Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-15
This privacy policy explains how the iPhone app “(thinking)” (the “App”), provided by VVELD AI (the “Developer”), handles your information.
1. The developer collects no personal data
The Developer does not collect, store or transmit any personal data through the App. There is no developer server, no account and no sign-in. However, to show ads on the free plan, the advertising service (Google) may receive information from your device (see 7).
2. What is stored on your iPhone
The App stores the following on your iPhone, inside the App's own data area. None of it reaches the Developer.
- Copies of the screenshots you import, and the text recognized in them (for search)
- One poster frame for each screen recording (the video itself is not copied; the App refers to the one in your Photos library)
- Notes, pins, labels and highlights you write, your folders, and Moodboard layouts
- Links saved from the share sheet, with their titles and preview images
- The App's settings
This data may be included in your iCloud backup (or a backup to your Mac). That is part of iOS and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the App deletes this data. You can export your links and notes to a file at any time from Settings.
3. Photo library access
With your permission, the App accesses your photo library. It reads screenshots, screen recordings and the images in any albums you choose in Settings. On the compression screens, it also reads the camera photos and videos you choose.
The App writes to your photo library only when you ask it to (for example, saving a compressed photo or video, an image with labels, or a slideshow video, or creating an album). The App deletes photos only in the following cases, and every one of them goes through the iOS confirmation dialog:
- When you empty the App's Trash
- When you remove duplicate photos, or convert Live Photos to still photos
- When you compress a screenshot, camera photo, screen recording or camera video and choose to replace the original
- When you cut a screen recording and replace the original recording
- When you select and delete photos or videos in the "Camera" list on a compression screen
Deleted items stay in "Recently Deleted" in the Photos app for 30 days. Once an original that was replaced by a compressed version is removed from there, its original quality cannot be restored.
4. Network access
The App connects to the internet only in these cases:
- To fetch the title, preview image and site icon of a link you saved from the share sheet, from that page (for YouTube links, the video's thumbnail image from YouTube)
- To read the price, product photo and product name from a shop page you shared to a wishlist (also on the share screen). If a page's price cannot be read directly, the App opens the page in an invisible browser (WebKit, the same engine as Safari) to read it. No cookies or other browsing data are kept
- To download photos and videos stored in iCloud Photos, through the Photos framework (an Apple service)
- To show ads on the free plan (see 7 below)
Reading a link or shop page is the same as opening that page in a browser, and the connection goes to that page's server. The App never sends your screenshots, notes, recognized text or folder contents anywhere.
5. Purchases
Purchases of the paid plan are handled by Apple's App Store (in-app purchase). The Developer does not receive your name, address or payment details.
6. Notifications
The daily reminder is a local notification, scheduled and delivered by your iPhone itself. It is not sent from a developer server, and nothing is sent anywhere to deliver it. You can turn it off in Settings.
7. Analytics and advertising
The App contains no analytics or crash-reporting services.
On the free plan, the App shows ads using Google's advertising service (Google AdMob). On a paid plan, no ads are shown and the advertising service is not started. The App requests non-personalized ads only and does not ask for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). To show ads, Google may receive information from your device (such as the advertising identifier, approximate location, records of ad views and taps, and diagnostic information). Google handles this information under Google's advertising policies. Your screenshots, notes, recognized text and folder contents are never given to the advertising service. In the European Economic Area, the UK and some other regions, you may be asked for consent before ads are shown, as the law requires.
8. Children's privacy
Because the developer collects no personal data through the App, it does not collect personal data from children under 13 either. The App and its ads are not directed at children.
9. Changes to this policy
Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
