Tips

Two iPhone settings that make screenshots easier to live with. Neither touches your photos, and neither affects what (thinking) collects.

1. Hide screenshots in Photos

Let (thinking) be where you look at screenshots, and keep them out of your Photos library. This only changes what's shown. Nothing is deleted.

  1. Open Photos and go to Library at the bottom
  2. Tap the ≡ button at the top right
  3. Open View Options
  4. Under “Show:”, turn off Screenshots. You'll see “Screenshots Hidden”

Photos app on iOS 18 or later. To undo it, turn Screenshots back on in the same place.

2. Turn off full-screen screenshot previews

On iOS 26, a full-screen preview opens every time you take a screenshot. Turn it off and you'll get just the small thumbnail in the corner instead, so the next screenshot is one tap away.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Open Screen Capture
  4. Turn off Full-Screen Previews

iOS 26 or later.
